Charles L. Montgomery, 74, died on Monday morning, March 12, 2007, with his family by his side.

He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He worked and retired from Marley Flexco (Robbins Tire & Rubber) in Tuscumbia, Ala. After retiring, Charles moved to Jasper, where he enjoyed gardening, yard work and his beloved pet, Katie. He will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his three sons and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wredge and Carrie Montgomery; two brothers, Louis Montgomery and Herman Montgomery; and two sisters, Eva Dell Green and Estelle Skidmore.

He is survived by his three sons, (ed.-living); three sisters, (ed.-2 lving), Edna Montgomery; two brothers (ed.-living); and three grandchildren, (ed.-lving).

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. CDT Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Mike Smith officiating. Interment will be in Tharptown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. CDT Tuesday at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville, Al.
