Left House at 7:30, Fails to Report at Office. Joseph Hutter Jr., 175 Hoyt street, vice president of the Hutter Construction Co., was found dead at the wheel of his car this noon in the garage in the rear of his home the victim of carbon monoxide poisoning. The door of the garage was open for a distance of one foot. Mr. Hutter left the house this morning at about 7:30 to drive to the warehouse of the company. When he did not return for lunch his wife, Anna K. Hutter called his brother, Ignatius G. Hutter, and asked if he had reported at the office. Being told that he had not been seen there and advised to look in the garage the doors of which she had noticed were partly closed, she discovered her husband sitting at the wheel of the car, a Buick brougham, the doors of the car partly closed, and his hand on the wheel. He had been dead for some time. Coroner Murray said that an inquest was unnecessary. Mr. Hutter was born Aug. 17, 1874 (sic 1879) at Calvary and is survived by his wife and two sons, Oliver of Glen, Michigan and A.W. Hutter a student at Madison, and one daughter, Agnes; also his father, Joseph Hutter Sr.; four brothers, John K. Hutter, Ignatius G. Hutter, A.E. Hutter of Beaver Dam and George F. Hutter; five sisters, who are Sister M. Aquilina, St. Agnes convent, Mrs. Nick Schmitz, 360 Division street, Mrs. J.M. Bruckner, 343 Division street, Mrs. J.J. Gerhardt, 22 North Main street, and Miss Anna Hutter, also residing at 343 Division street. In addition to being vice president of the Hutter Construction Company, he was a member of the General Supply Co. and a director of the Hutter Realty Co. Mr. Hutter had been identified with the Hutter Construction company for the past 32 years in the capacity of superintendent of construction. He supervised the building of a large number of buildings in this city and elsewhere in the state. On Dec. 29, 1923, he met with a serious accident while driving in his car on North Main street. He was struck by a Sheboygan passenger train as he passed over the tracks which pass across Main street in the vicinity of the T.W. Meiklejohn company's plant. Mr. Hutter was a member of the Elks and St. Joseph's Verein of St. Mary's Church. Funeral services are likely to be held Monday morning at St. Mary's Church, however plans have not been completed in detail. The body was removed to the Zacherl funeral home.

Efforts are being made to reach another son, Oliver, who is at present working in Michigan. Yesterday the family was unable to reaach him as he was away from his headquarters on a construction job. The body of Mr. Hutter is to be removed from the Zacherl funeral home to the residence tomorrow morning.

Obsequies for Joseph Hutter Jr. whose death occurred Thursday morning, were conducted today. Short services were held at the family residence, 175 Hoyt street at 8:30 o'clock and at 9 at St. Mary's Church. A solemn requiem mass was sung with the Rev. P.W. Gersbach as celebrant, Rev. Joseph Ulrich as deacon and Rev. H.W. Lear C.PP.S. as subdeacon. There was an unusually large floral offering and the church was filled to capacity with friends of the deceased who came to pay their last respects. The honorary bearers were E.A. Kremer, A.H. Maney, E.J. Stenz, Leo F. Dana, J.A. Pfeil and J.P. Hess, Dr. C.W. Leonard, Dr. J.W. Helz, Stephen Andrew, F.J. Stepnoski, Louis E. Frazier and Joseph Darnich were the active bearers. Relatives and friends from a distance who were present at the services were Mr. and Mrs. A.E.
