Alva Leo Martin was born July 11, 1916 in Lancaster Missouri to William Everett and Dora Alice (Singleton) Martin. On December 24, 1937 he was united in marriage to Bertha Opal Thorington who preceded him in death on August 9, 1986.
His parents, one sister, Dora Mae Martin, three brothers, Estil, Fredrick and Paul Martin and three grandchildren also preceded him in death.
Surviving are four sons, Alva W., Daniel, David, and Dean Martin. Three daughters, Emma Lowene Helms, Bernice Josephine Wallace, and Bertha Jolene McKim; four brothers, Leroy Martin, Leon Martin, James Martin, and Oral Noon and one sister Nora Fay O'Neill; thirty-nine grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
Leo lived most of his life in Adair County, He was employed with Baiotto Concrete Company from 1960 to 1970 before retiring.
