Her grade school years were at Cedar Vale grade school in Cedar Vale Township. Mary Agnes graduated, Valedictorian of her Cathedral High School class in 1933. In those days, it was customary for Valedictorian to be a male student. But her grades highly surpassed any of the other students.
Her time and her siblings time at home were filled with fun and laughter. All of Edward Leo and Hazel Prichard's children were to play at least one musical instrument. Mary Agnes played piano -- she and her sister Joan Dolores were very good.
Straight out of high school, Mary signed up for nursing school at St. Francis Hospital. She graduated top of her class (with her future sister-in-law, Alice Louise Kessler) in 1936. It was customary for the first born to be first married. So being the thoughtful sister; Alice Louise Kessler was introduced to Edward Oliver Prichard. They were married in 1939.
Mary worked as a nurse, keeping her nursing registration active throughout her later years. Mary Agnes married Jack Harry Odom on November 14, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas. They had five children in 16 years. Mary Agnes Prichard Odom died on September 13, 2002, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 86.
