Funeral services for Mrs. S.M. Chandler, 80-year-old Haughton resident, who died Saturday at 10 a.m. at the home of a daughter, in Bossier City, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Hurricane cemetery near Arcadia. Officiating at the rites were the Rev. R.G. Merritt, pastor of Hornbeck Baptist Church, and Dr. W.L. Sewell, pastor of the Bossier City Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers were C.H. Horton, Ray Cook, Leslie Baker, Jr., George Chandler, Frank Chandler, Jr., Sam Howell, Dewey Howell and L.C. Chandler.

Mrs. Chandler is survived by her husband; four daughters, Mrs. L.G. Reis of Bossier City, Mrs. W.L. Cook of Oil City, Mrs. O.E. Horton of Bossier City and Mrs. F.L. Baker of Princeton; two sons, F.R. Chandler and W.L. Chandler, of Haughton; 34 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Bright of Gibsland.
