She was born in Monroe County, KY on February 12, 1920 to the late Orbin Pickerell and Della Kingery Pickerell. She was a retired homemaker, a member of Skaggs Creek Baptist Church and a graduate of Gamaliel High School. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1940 to Jesse Combs, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law: Howell and Gail Combs and Ricky Combs all of Tompkinsville, Jimmie and Jeanette Combs of Bowling Green, KY, Billie Jo and Dona Combs of Glasgow, KY, 7 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son: Daniel Mark Combs, one brother: Henry Ellsworth Pickerell, two sisters: Ada Walden and Lucille Chapman.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery.
