"Born May 28,1927, to Oscar A. and Flora Bond in Heber, Utah, died Feb. 12, 2011 at his home. He married Eileen Giles Oct. 26, 1952 in Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from Wasatch High School and attended Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. He served in the military, the Navy in the Philippines, then the Army at Ft. Riley, Kan. Following his release, he and Eileen made their home in Southern California where they have resided since. Bernell worked in building construction and later formed his own company with sons Scott and Dana as partners. Bernell has served in many capacities in the LDS Church. Bernell's greatest love is family, camping, hunting, biking. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; sons, Scott (Marti Gygi), Thousand Oaks, Dana (Tammy Steinmetz), Thousand Oaks; daughters, Patricia Bosley, El Dorado Hills, Mrs. RaNae Broeske (Jim), North Hollywood, Mrs. Tammy Farr (Steve), Lehi, Utah; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at LDS Church, 3645 Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks. Friends may extend condolences prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Valley Oaks Memorial Park, Westlake Village."
