Grace Crow
Funeral services were conducted from the First Baptist Church in Temple, Okla., Monday Nov. 5, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Burial in the Temple Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple, Okla.
Grace (Stogner) Crow was born to John Newton and Lou Allie (Jones) Stogner on June 30, 1904, near Ferris, Texas, and departed this life on Nov. 2, 2001, at Temple, Okla., at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 2 days.
Grace grew up at Temple and graduated in 1922 from Temple High School. She later received a Bachelor's degree from Central State College in Edmond, Okla.
She married Cleburne Crow in 1944, at Temple and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1985.
She was also preceded by her grandson, Ricky Crow on January 10, 1993.
Mrs. Crow began teaching in the rural school of Pleasant Valley. She later taught at Lindsey for a number of years before moving to Oklahoma City and eventually back to Temple where she taught most of her 30 plus years, retiring in the 1970's.
Grace was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Temple. She loved to cook and take care of others.
Survivors include: Her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Vermont Shaw of Walters, Okla.; her brother, Carroll Stogner of Temple, Okla.; her sister-in-law, Bernadine Stogner of Midwest City, Okla.; her stepson, James T. and wife Nancy Crow of Buchanan Dam, Texas; three grandchildren, Wendell and Charles Crow, both of Texas; and Mike Crow of Buchanan Dam, Texas; several greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
