Memorial services for Virginia E. Gilmore, 89, of Painesville, will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church of Painesville, 71 N. Park Place, Painesville.
Mrs. Gilmore died July 31, 2006 at Lake Med Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Painesville.
Born Feb. 7, 1917, in Perry, she lived in Painesville for the past 66 years.
She was a graduate of Perry High School. She attended the United Methodist Church of Painesville. She was a member of First Families of Ohio. Her hobbies included gardening and genealogy.
Mrs. Gilmore worked as a bookkeeper at Riverside High School in Painesville Township School System for ten years.
Survivors are her daughter, Judith (Gilmore) Hempel of Painesville; daughter-in-law, Ann (Jack) Orin of Bay Village; grandchildren, Derrik (Christa) Gilmore of Westlake, Wesley (Lisa) Gilmore of Colorado, and Jane Gilmore of Tennessee; and great-granddaughter, Cara Gilmore of Westlake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene T. Gilmore, Sr.; son, Eugene Gilmore, Jr.; son-in-law, Henry Hempel; and parents, Irwin and Edythe (Locke) Baxter.
No calling hours will be observed. The Rev. Gerald D. Kalb will officiate the servicdes. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville.
The family suggests donations be made to The Radio Ministry of the United Methodist Church of Painesville, 71 N. Park Place, Painesville 44077.
