Frederick W Parker was the son of Ruel Parker (1792-1872) and Emily Hatch-Tenney-Parker (1802-1894). Frederick left his home in North Clarendon, VT circa 1860 to seek his fortune in the California Gold Rush. He mined gold in Amador County, CA and also worked as a share cropper in Moro Bay, CA. Frederick married Sarah Melinda Reed in 1869; Sarah was the daughter of Jacob T Reed (?-1884) and Martha Williams-Reed (1829-1917). Frederick and Sarah settled in Jackson, Amador, CA where they raised 4 children:

1)Clarence Frederick Parker(1876-?).

2)Arthur Willoughby Parker(1889-1968).

3)Charley Elton Parker(1887-1989).

4)Laura Vivian Parker (1894-1936).
