Dorothy J. Kidd, 63 years of age, a resident of Gildford, Montana, died Wednesday, July 28, 1993, of natural causes at a Havre hospital.
Dorothy was born Jan. 14, 1930 at Gildford, Montana, the daughter of Fred and Achsah (Heustis) Crites. She attended a rural school north of Gildford. Dorothy was a graduate of Gildford High School. She worked in Gildford as a waitress at a local cafe and later as a postal clerk at the Gildford post office. On Apr. 3, 1949 she married Allan Kidd at Rudyard, Mont. After their marriage the couple farmed northeast of Gildford. Dorothy was a member of the Kremlin-Gildford Lutheran Church. Dorothy was also a member of the Gildford Jolly Janes Extension Homemakers Club, and was a pitcher for the local Gildford Softball Club. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and watching Gildford basketball games.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Allan Kidd of Gildford; one son, Timothy Kidd of Gildford; five daughters, Linda Danielson, Shelly Kidd and Paula Keeler of Havre, Lana Gasper of Port Angeles, Wash., Renee Brothers of Chester, Mont., and LeeAnn Church of Aberdeen, Wash.; five sisters, Lois Olson, LeRena Stewart, and June Youso of Havre, Doreen Rutter of Ranier, Wash., and Jeanne Johnston of Astoria, Ore.; three brothers, Vern Crites of Kennewick, Wash., Harold Crites of Vancouver, Wash., and Richard Crites of Moses Lake, Wash.; as well as nine randchildren.
Memorial service at First Baptis Church at Gildford, Mont. Burial of ashes was at Gildford cemetery.
