Garment industry manager enjoyed gardening
Harry W. Slusser, 63, of Woodin Street, Berwick, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at the Berwick Hospital Center.
Born June 29, 1947, in Berwick, he was the son of the late Guy Slusser and Fern (Reagan) Slusser of Berwick.
A graduate of Berwick High School, he went on to hold employment as a Manager with Mittleman's Dress Factory, then Akers Manufacturing, in Berwick, retiring after 35 years. He was a member of the Berwick Christian Church, ILGWU and enjoyed gardening and making cakes and candies.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his sister, Barb, wife of Donald Ruckle, of Berwick; four brothers: Gary Slusser and his wife, Faith, of Nescopeck; David Slusser and his wife, Patty, of Berwick; Clifford Slusser of Berwick; and Jim Slusser of Baltimore, Md.; and Ron Redmond of Berwick; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Reba.
A visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m. at the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 110 Chestnut St., Berwick, with the Rev. John Hill, his pastor, officiating. A private family interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.
