Clifford G. Slusser Sr.
Outdoorsman enjoyed Rattlesnake Roundup
Clifford G. Slusser Sr., 65, of Berwick, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by his family.
Born in Berwick, on March 5, 1954, he was a son of the late Guy F. and Fern M. (Reagan) Slusser. He attended Berwick High School. Most of his life he was employed through the bricklayers union, and prior to retiring, he worked for a waterproofing company in Maryland.
Clifford loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, searching for arrowheads and picking mushrooms. He liked attending the Rattlesnake Roundup in Noxen, taking hunting trips and staying at the hunting cabin in the Mifflin Township. He was a very smart person who had a wise saying for most situations, and many who knew him referred to him as “a book of useless knowledge”.
He will be greatly missed by his children: Clifford Slusser Jr. and wife Cheryl, Shickshinny, Jennifer Slusser, Berwick, Jill Slusser, Nescopeck, Jessica Slusser and companion Brent Benedict, Berwick, Dylan Boone and Grace Boone, both of Millville; 10 grandchildren: Kiersten Harner, Quinlynn Slusser, Anthony O’Day, Gage “Ricochet” Bortz, Serenity Moore, Alanna Balliet, Tessa Balliet, Derek Moss, Carter Benedict, Easton Benedict; and two great-grandchildren: Brody Harner and Delainey Allen. He also leaves behind brothers: Jim Slusser of Virginia, Gary Slusser and wife, Faith, Nescopeck, Guy Slusser Jr. and wife, Misti, Berwick; sisters: Barb Ruckle, Berwick, April Slusser, Berwick, Stephanie Slusser Bender, Georgia; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews, including Nicholas Sherwood, who visited often and helped him with chores.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Harry and Dave Slusser.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E. Third St., Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
