Joined the 37th AL Infantry Regiment 14 April 1862 at Abbeville,AL. Engaged at Iuka,Corinth and Vicksburg MS.Later joined the 5th Battalion, Flordia Cavalry Honorably discharged 9 April 1865. His brother, Benjamin A. Forrester was also in the 37th Regiment
