B.R. BARTZ OF CITY DIES AT AGE OF 44
B. Robert Bartz, 44, of 298 Linden St., died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Hospital, Madison.He was born May 20, 1926, in Hardin, Mont., a son of Edward and Lena Schneider Bartz.
Mr. Bartz was graduated from Rosendale High School. He served with the Navy for four years during World War II, and then attended Milwaukee School of Engineering for two years. He later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving with the 81st Air Force Rescue Squadron stationed in Greenland.
He served a three-year apprenticeship as a golf instructor at various golf courses within the state. He was a member of Church of Nazarene in Kalispell, Mont.
He was employed as a mechanic by Parkway Bowling Lanes.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Lena Bartz of the city; four brothers, Bernard J. Bartz of Billings, Mont., Larry Anderson of Reno, Nev., Don E. Bartz of Mesa, Ariz., and Rev. N. James Bartz of Kalispell, Mont.; and three sisters, Mrs. John Hidok of Colfax, Iowa, Mrs Edgar Rudolph of Ripon and Mrs. Thomas E. Crooks of the city.
Mr. Bartz was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rosendale Cemetery in Rosendale.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for B. Robert Bartz who died Sunday were held at 10 a.m. today from Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Clark from the Church of Nazarene of Oshkosh officiated with the Rev. N. James Bartz, brother of the deceased, assisting.
The organist was Mrs. Watson Waehler. Burial was in Rosendale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Keith Hidok, Dennis Crooks, Robert Geib, Frank Hernandes, Kenneth Lemieux and Lyle Stiedeman.
The Trier-Puddy Post 75 of the American Legion conducted graveside services with the following participating: Color bearers, Arthur G. Mossong and Henry Rucks; color guards, Elmer Root and Tage Swanson; firing detail, Andrew F. Johnson, Martin J. Weyer, John D. Pitas, Edson Stubbs and John Wacynski; bugler, Robert Samuel, commander, Lawrence McEnroe.
