"GEO. RUNGE DIES AT HOME OF SON
Arrangements for Funeral of Lifelong Resident Not Completed.
George Runge, lifelong resident of this city, died this morning at the home of a son, Homer Runge, here at 10 o'clock, succumbing to complications. He had been ailing for about two years and his condition became serious late Wednesday. Mr. Runge was residing temporarily with his son.
Born in Edwardsville on May 5, 1869, Mr. Runge was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Runge. After completing his education in Edwardsville schools, Mr. Runge engaged in the printer's trade, being employed here and in St. Louis. Two years ago he retired because of failing health after having been employed at the Woodward and Tiernan Printing Company of St. Louis for 28 years. His wife, whose maiden name was Miss Margaret Herweck, preceded him in death on May 5, 1911, expiring in St. Louis.
One daughter, Mrs. Bert Jacobs, of this city; two sons, Homer Runge of this city, and George C. Runge of Long Beach, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. George Judd and Mrs. Ed Eubanks, both of this city, and one brother, Theodore Runge, also of this city, survive.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed." END
