Charles was born February 18, 1923 to Loy F. and Velma (Fenwick) Boston in Jerico Springs, MO. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Korea. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Warden on June 18, 1950 in Marshalltown. Charles owned and operated a mechanic shop from 1950 to 1962, south of LeGrand. He then farmed north of Toledo before moving west of Marshalltown to continue farming until he retired in 1988. He was a member of the Marshalltown's Moose Club and American Legion. He loved to golf and was a member of the Legion Golf Course.
Charles will be missed by his children; Jon (Sue) Boston of Marshalltown, Peg (Bob) Healey of Marshalltown, four grandsons; Scott (Amanda) Boston, Skip (Laura) Boston, Mike (Steph) Healey, Joe Healey, six great grandchildren, four sisters; Novella, Jewell, Nellie, and Rosalee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, a grandson, Bobby, and eight brothers and sisters.
