WASHINGTON — Raymond C. "Donkey" Flinn, 84, longtime Washington resident, died at 1:43 a.m. Wednesday at Ketcham Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 5, 1926, in Odon, he was the son of Damon and Elva (Beasley) Flinn.

A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, he retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane in 1975 and worked at the Edwardsport power plant for five years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, trap and fish. He enjoyed his family and loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Cannon) Flinn, whom he married June 10, 1944; daughters, Barbara Mensch of Bloomfield and Marsha Hoen of Petersburg; sons, John Flinn of Chambersburg, Pa., Mike Flinn of Herrin, Ill., and Jim Flinn of Redmond, Ky.; a brother, Virgil Flinn of Odon; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son, Don Flinn; a brother, Cecil Flinn; and a sister, Orvada Lane.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, Odon Chapel, with Revs. Mike Madden and David Wilde officiating. Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
