COLUMBIA — Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today for William Paul Young Sr., 79, of Columbia in the Clarks Baptist Church with the Rev. James Silmon officiating.

Burial followed in the Welcome Home Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of here.

Mr. Young died at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe Wednesday following a lengthy illness.

He held charter membership in the American Legion Post No. 162 of Columbia and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 382, F&AM.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Emma Young of Columbia; two sons, Excell Young of Lindsey, Okla., and Paul Young Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Ovis Masters of Olla and Mrs. Blanche Delduca of Pittsburgh, Penn.; one brother, Delbert [sic Elbert] Young of West Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Effie McGee of Fort Necessity; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
