Funeral for Marveline Holloway Alsbrooks Blankenship, 79, of Decatur will be Friday, February 11, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Martin Steelmon officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Blankenship, who died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at her residence, was born June 16, 1931, in Morgan County to Colmon Dewey Holloway and Margaret Neva Roan Holloway. She was a retired Logistician from the U.S. Army Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Decatur. Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the Morgan County Genealogical Society, Joe Wheeler Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Stephens Chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Earl Alsbrooks; husband, Edward Clinton Sharp; husband, William Albert Burns; her parents; one sister, Martha Ann Holloway Blankenship; and two brothers-in-law, Max Blankenship and Bill Curry.
She is survived by her husband, Arlee Morris Blankenship; two sons, Cecil Gregory Alsbrooks and wife, Gail, of Decatur and Dewey O'Dale Alsbrooks and wife, Renee, of Tuscaloosa; one brother, D.C.
