"Morning has broken" for Debby Woosley Casey at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Debby was born July 12, 1950, to the late Bruce W. Woosley and Colleen Sink Woosley. She graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in elementary education and received her master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Debby was very active with the Muscular Dystrophy telethons in Winston-Salem and she was Miss Wheelchair North Carolina in 1983. She was a lifelong Girl Scout. Debby's determination, energy and spirit have served her well as she volunteered for numerous causes, always working hard as an advocate for the handicapped citizen. Most recently, Debby has shared her many talents, intelligence and love with her church. Debby's family includes her mother; her son, Robert Joseph Fix Jr. and his wife, Neely; and her two grandchildren, Danielle Louise and Robert Joseph Fix III. She has a sister, Patricia Perryman (George); brothers Steve Woosley (Kim) and Craig Woosley; and a faithful friend, Michael Anne Haywood. Debby loved her extended family of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, all her St. Anne's Episcopal Church friends; and her dogs, Buddy, Binnie and Katie. The family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening, July 2, 2002, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at St. Anne's Episcopal Church conducted by the Rev. Hal T. Hayek. Debby's special project at her church was the building of a labyrinth, so her family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Labyrinth Fund, St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 2690 Fairlawn Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. The family wishes to thank Bonnie Smith of Senior Services, the Crawford Pointe Health Care Agency, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center staff and the compassionate community of the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their loving care of Debby.
