Veteran Dies At Indianapolis
James P. Erlet, 56, veteran of World War I, died Thursday morning at 10:30
o’clock at the Billings Veterans’ hospital in Indianapolis after a two-week
illness from peripheral neuritis.

The body was returned to the Williamson funeral home where friends may
call. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the West
Walnut street Church of Christ in charge of Rev. G. E. Schell o Greenville, O.,
assisted by Rev. Marshall N. Weaver. Interment will be in Green Park
cemetery.
The deceased was born in this county Jan. 4, 1894, son of the late John and
Olive Crawford Erlet. He served in the 34 th Field Artillery in the first World
War and for the past several years had been employed at the Sheller Corp.
He was a member of the Moose lodge, the American Legion, Triangle A
Riding Club and the Fort Reocvery Riding Club.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Betty Lou Stults of Las Cruces, New
Mexico, Mrs. Donna Wilkinson of Bluffton and Mrs. Mary Ann Stultz and Miss
JoElla Erlet of Portland.
