She was born January 29, 1925 in Portland and moved to Lake Wales fifty six years ago.
She was a 1946 graduate of Ball state University and retired after thirty three years in education. She was a fifth grade teacher at Polk Avenue Elementary School, earned her masters degree from University of South Florida and became the schools librarian. She finished her career at Janie Howard Wilson Elementary.
She had been very active in the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority. She had over five thousand volunteer hours at Lake Wales Medical Center. She was a member of First United Methodist church of Lake Wales .
Surviving are her husband Robert G. Murley, son Craig E. Wilkinson and wife Roselle of Marietta, Ga., Daughter in law Nancy Wilkinson of Elon, N.C., step-daughters Joanne Murley of Newington, Conn. And Karen Murley " Kells of Montague Center, Mass. Four grandchildren , Sister JoElla Evans
Preceded in death by her first husband James E. Wilkinson.
Private graveside services will be held with burial in the Green Park Cemetery . Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor. Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
