HIAWATHA, Kan., Oct. 29, - One of the best-known citizens of Brown County, C. W. BIDDLE, sixty-five years old, died yesterday afternoon following an illness of nearly eleven years.
It was a distinct tribute to his popularity that this county elected his sheriff for eight years, longer than any other man ever held the office. He left office in 1927, illness having incapacitated him for several before retirement, his son, Gordon carrying out most of the duties of the office.
Surviving are his widow; a son, Cecil of Mountain Grove, Mo.; his son, Gordon, of the home; and daughter, Miss Wilma BIDDLE, teacher at Havensville, Kan.
