Clara Mogard, 87, Granville, formerly of the Minot and Deering area died Monday, September 29, 2003, at a Granville foster care home.

She was born December 29, 1915, on the family farmstead near Deering, the daughter of Hellick and Kjerste (Haslemo) Erickson. She was reared and educated in the Deering area.

She married Ole Mogard on August 28, 1934, in Minot. The couple farmed northwest of Deering for 42 years. They retired in 1978, due to poor health and moved to Minot. Ole died on January 23, 1984. Clara continued to live in Minot until she entered a foster care home in Granville.

Clara was a former member of the Nidaros Lutheran Church, which was located east of Wolseth, ND. She was also active with the Nidaros Ladies Aid. She later transferred her member ship to Deering Lutheran Church and later attended Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot.

Survivors: brother, Herbert Erickson (Shirley), Granville; special nieces, Dianne and Barb; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ole, her parents, brothers, Edwin, Henry, Selmer, Robert and Gene Erickson and her sister Marjorie Berg.
