Henry Petrie Sr., 88, Greeley, died Tuesday, May 18, at North Colorado Medical Center.
He was born June 6, 1904, in Grimm, Russia, to Henry and Mary Christine (Fertig) Petrie.
On Nov. 10, 1953, he married Pauline Schwartzkopf in Cheyenne.
Mr. Petrie came to the USA as a young boy. He moved to Greeley from Wyoming. He had owned several business in Weld County. He had a butcher shop in Greeley and had been an owner of Weld County By-Products. He at one time also ran a café in Greeley and a grocery store in Severance.
Survivors are his wife, Pauline of Greeley; 2 daughters, Lavonne and Marilyn; 2 sons, Henry Jr. and Robert; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Florence Fraiser; a son Bill Dean; six sisters, Hanna Petrie, Lydia Eckhardt, Ruth Hinton, Mollie Rossman, Mary Gettman and Linda Ulrich; and two brothers, Jake and Herman; are deceased.
