Alonzo Harris, age 86, a long time resident of the Parkersburg community, passed away Saturday night at the Richland Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Parkersburg with the Rev. Richard Mason officiating.
Friends may call at the Summers-Marshall Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. today.
Mr. Harris was born in Richland County the son of Andy Harris and Rachel Curtis Harris. He was a Male Nurse for many years in and around the Richland County area. He had served a term as Mayor of the Village of Parkersburg.
He leaves four children: C.A. Harris of Scottsdale, Ariz., Joseph Harris of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Marie Robbins of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Gary Harris of Parkersburg. There are several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Celesta Arnold of Evansville, Indiana. His wife of a second marriage, Mrs. Mabel Harris and a son, Rutherford Harris have preceded him in death.
