Mrs. Betty Trogdon Taylor, 79, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Forbis & Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel. Interment will follow at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery in Franklinville with Rev. Mark Sandlin officiating.

Mrs. Taylor was born on July 24, 1931 in Randolph County. She retired as a teacher with Greensboro City Schools after twenty-two years of service. Betty was a valued member of Vandalia Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed life, family, home, friends and the Lord. She will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by parents, Dwight and Ila Brown Trogdon, and son, John R. Taylor, III.

Survivors include husband, John R. Taylor, Jr.; daughter, Renee Taylor Baker and husband Randy of Hillsborough; son, Eric Lyn Taylor and wife Patricia of Greensboro; brother, Dwight M. Trogdon, Jr.; grandchildren, Erica Mizelle and husband Chris, Matthew Taylor and wife Katrina, Anne Marie Brown and husband Dave.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service on Sunday.
