C. J. Watson, 88, of Grandfield, Oklahoma, died Thursday, February 3, 2011, in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Grandfield, with Dwight Parker, Minister of the Church of Christ, Grandfield, OK, officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Cemetery, Grandfield, Oklahoma, under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield.

Mr. Watson was born October 24, 1922, in Lebonon, Oklahoma, to Claude and Lula Lillian (Hart) Watson. He moved with his family to the Grandfield area and attended country schools. He entered the United States Army in 1942, and was discharged in 1945. He was awarded the American Theater Campaign Medal; the EAME Campaign Medal; Good Conduct Medal and the World War 2 Victory Medal. He married Joye Lee Richardson on November 3, 1948 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. After their marriage they resided east of Grandfield. They moved into Grandfield in 1956. He was employed at the cotton gins in this area for over 25 years. He loved to fish. He retired in 1993 and lived here until the present. C. J. was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include, two sons, Gary Lynn Watson of Altus, OK; Jay Scott and wife, Kathy Watson of Henrietta, TX; one daughter, Rita Delois Payne of Ft. Sill, OK; two brothers, Morris Dean Watson of Mustang, OK; Benny Ray Watson of Lillian, TX; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joye Lee; a daughter, Claudia Allgood; three brothers, Voyd; Virgil and Vernon; six sisters, Cansada Watson; Geneva Bailey; Hazel Shilton; Wanda Cozby; Dixie Stockman and Ellora Randall.
