Gary Lynne Watson was born February 22, 1952, in Grandfield, Oklahoma, to C. J. and Joye Lee (Richardson) Watson. He grew up in Grandfield, attended and graduated from Grandfield High School with the Class of 1970. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a Firefighter for four years. He was then employed at Altus Air Force Base as a Firefighter, where he received numerous awards. He retired after 27 years of service. Gary loved to play golf, hunt, fish and rodeo. He won several team roping buckles. He enjoyed dove hunting with his Altus buddies. He lived life to the fullest. He loved his dog, Festus. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Faron Dean Watson of Winchester, TN; and Caden James Watson of Altus, OK; a brother, Scott Watson and his wife, Kathy of Wichita Falls, TX, a sister, Rita Cullar and her husband, Delbert of Wichita Falls, TX; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, C. J. and Joye Lee Watson, one sister, Claudia Allgood; and his dog and best friend, Festus.
