Well Known Gentleman Expired as the Result of a Stroke of Paralysis Last Wednesday.
Mr. E. Sims Banks died at his home two miles east of the city at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, of paralysis. Mr. Banks received a stroke of paralysis last Wednesday, and in view of the seriousness of the the attack, and the fact that he had sustained several strokes previously, his relatives and friends were apprehensive that he would not recover. For two or three days preceding his death his condition had been desperate, and those at his bedside were not surprised when the end came yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Banks was 67 years of age.. He was born and raised in Columbus, and spent all his years in and about Columbus, with the exception of a few years spent in Stewart county when a young man. He was a farmer, and had a place east of the city. Mr. Banks was particularly well known among the older citizens, and had many warm friends.
The deceased is survived by a brother, Dr. Elbert A Banks, who is the last of nine brothers. Two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Yonge and Mrs. G. J. Peacock, also survive him. He has one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Shepperd.
The funeral will occur at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon from the residence of Mrs. Andrew Shepherd in Wynnton.
