Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, LeVeta Bartley and Maxine Fleener and six brothers, Gilbert, Kenneth, Dayton, Freeman, Ray, and Clinton. She is survived by two brothers, H.W. (Bill) Bartley and Francis M. Bartley Sr. of Topeka, and ten nieces and six nephews.
Sylvia lived all her life in the Hiawatha area. She attended LaGrange School until she graduated from the eighth grade. After the family moved to town Sylvia baby sat with many young children in the Hiawatha area. She also did house keeping for the National Guard Armory in Hiawatha.
Sylvia lived her later life in the Maple Grove Complex where she spent many hours looking after and playing cards with her many friends.
