Horace William Bartley, 87, Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Bill was born in Hiawatha, Kansas, on July 29, 1935, the tenth of eleven children born to Glenn and Grace Mize Bartley. He graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1953. Bill married Dolores Shumaker on May 23, 1954. He was the sole proprietor of the Westboro Hair Center and was named Kansas Barber of the Year. Bill was a real outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, gardening and yard work. He was past president of the Barber Association and current member of the Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge, and the Shriners.

Bill's proudest moments were the times he spent mentoring and cherishing his relationships with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his wife, Dolores; children, Sandra Boyd (Steven) and William Bartley (Nwando); grandchildren, Heather Layton, Ryan Boyd, Glen Bartley and Scott Bartley; great-grandchildren, Alec Boyd, Elly George, Cameron Layton, Cece Boyd, William Layton, Coleman Bartley and Claire Bartley. He was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.

Visitation and funeral service Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at The Chapel at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka KS 66604. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
