Soon after the opening of the Cherokee Strip a Catholic Mission Church and cemetery were established 3 miles north of Capron. The Capron Mission was closed in 1916 and the bodies from the cemetery were moved to the new Catholic Cemetery in Alva except for the body of Mr. Scroff, whose wife preferred that he stay there. This has been referred to as Centerpoint as it was near the Centerpoint School.
