Elizabeth Ann Humber, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to her heavenly home on February 1, 2011 at 12:45 a.m. due to complications with cardiac arrest. Ann graduated from Albany High School in 1957 and returned to Albany with her husband, Tom, in 1980 and lived there for 12 years. She was an active member of Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Sally Matthews Circle, Garden Club, Study Club, DAR, and was a Shackelford 4H volunteer. Her passion for cooking, serving others, and her loving heart were enjoyed by many.
Ann was born on September 19, 1938 in Stamford, Texas to Byron and Alma Maxwell. She was the oldest of five children. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Tom of Jacksboro; two daughters and son-in-laws, Tracy and Jim Johnson of Plano, and John and Betsy Brady of Frisco; four grandchildren who were the light of her life, Aaron, Adrianna, Anson, and Alea; and her siblings, Harold and Louise Maxwell of Diboll, Margie and Al Werbner of Rockwall, Carolyn and Jackie Mitchell of Odessa, and Byron Jr. of Albany, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 5, 2011 at the Mattthews Memorial Presbyterian Church with Trey Little officiating. Burial will follow in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Godfrey Neese Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Feed Store youth ministry P.O. Box 2142 Albany, Texas 76430.
