William Donald, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Bassett of Alfred, N. Y., was born in July, 1900 at Alfred, and died at his home in North Canton, Ohio, June 28, 1951. He was superintendent of the Magnolia Plant of the National Fireproofing Company. Also, he was a member of the American Legion, of Alfred Lodge. No. 944, F.&A.M., and of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in North Canton. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth Miesmer Bassett; a daughter, Sally; a sister, Mrs. J. R. Evans of Alfred; and two brothers, Leon of Alfred and Robert of Darlington. Pa. Dr. Lavern C. Bassett of Dunellen, N. J., is a cousin. Funeral services were conducted at the Zion Church in Canton, July 1, by Rev. M. E. Beck, pastor. Interment was in the Greentown Cemetery. - Adapted from the Alfred Sun.
