Nora Ruth Puckett, 81, of Maysville passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Norman Health Plex. She was born October 12, 1929 near Gainesville, Texas to O. A. and Myrtle (Green) Comer.

Ruth grew up in Walnut Bend, Texas. She married Leon Hatfield on December 24, 1946 in Gainesville, Texas and lived there until moving to Wynnewood, OK. In 1950 Ruth and Leon moved to Maysville where they established Trend Tank Trucks and later Hatfield Construction. She worked as secretary and bookkeeper for their businesses. Leon passed away July 13, 1991. Ruth enjoyed working outside and raising vegetables and was well known for her produce. On February 15, 1997 Ruth married O. B. Puckett at the First Baptist Church in Maysville and they became a blended family. She and O. B. did everything together. Ruth enjoyed her grandchildren, family, watching ball games, and going to family reunions. She enjoyed dominoes so much, she kept a table ready for play and could be heard saying "Let's have a game". Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church, Maysville. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Survivors include her husband, O. B. Puckett of the home in Maysville. Sons: Grant Hatfield of Maysville; Todd Hatfield and his wife, Pam of Maysville; and Joe Puckett and his wife, Christie of Maysville. Daughter, Trudy Port and her husband, John of Edmond. Sister-in-law, Oleta "Sis" Gillespie of Fort Worth, Texas. 14 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; daughter, Nita Forkner; son, Troy Hatfield; and 12 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 29, 2011at the First Baptist Church, Maysville, OK. Rev. Chuck Shilling and Rev. Steve Spangler will officiate with burial in the Foster Cemetery under the direction of John Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, OK.
