He was a graduate of Statesboro High School, Class of 1990. He attended Northeast Oklahoma State Junior College and Georgia Southern University, where he played for the Georgia Southern Eagles football team. He was employed with Ranco Tents until his health failed. He had a great love for sports, but his passion was football.
He leaves to cherish fond memories to a loving daughter, Janee Brooks, Atlanta, Ga.; mother, Mrs. Gracie Mincey of Statesboro; a stepfather, Mr. Edward Richardson of Statesboro; father, Mr. Frankie Herrington of Statesboro, Ga.; one brother, Mr. Ron (Veronica) Christian of Macon, Ga.; five sisters, Ms. Jelisa Richardson and Jennifer Yvette Moore, both of Statesboro, Ga., Fran Marie (George) Herrington, Ophelia Chantel Herrington, Krystal Dionne Herrington, all of Atlanta, Ga.; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Cordia Herrington Ellis of Statesboro, Ga.; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Eunice Richardson of Hinesville, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Virgil Herrington will be held on Saturday, December 20th, at 1 p.m. at Whitesville Full Gospel Worship Center with Bishop Larry Jones, pastor, as eulogist. Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery. Service of comfort entrusted to the care of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Inc.
