Clarence Albert McCormick

Clarence Albert McCormick, 83, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Beech Grove Meadows. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born Jan. 26, 1918, in Shelby County. His parents were James H. and Hannah Jane (Ludlow) McCormick. He married Ruth Elizabeth (Whited) McCormick on Dec. 16, 1955. She preceded him in death April 29, 1996. Survivors include a son, Daniel L. McCormick of Greenwood; two stepsons, Charles E. Huffman of Chicago and Jerry Huffman of Indianapolis; two grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.

He was a graduate of Acton High School.

He was employed for 30 years by Eli Lilly and Co. in transportation, retiring in 1980. He was previously employed for 10 years by U.S. Rubber Co. as a mold operator.

Pastor Todd Outcalt will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stirling-Gerber Funeral Home in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at Acton Cemetery.

Services: 2 p.m. June 17 in Stirling-Gerber Funeral Home, with calling from 3 to 8 p.m. June 16. Private inurnment: Acton Cemetery.

He was the widower of Ruth Elizabeth Whited McCormick.

Survivors: son Daniel L. McCormick; stepsons Charles E., Jerry W. Huffman; two grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 17 great-stepgrandchildren; a great-great-stepgrandchild.
