She was born April 12, 1918, at Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Jasper and Mary Sims Clure. She spent most of her working life as a hairdresser. She was married October 1, 1965, in Tulsa, to Mayes England. They were members of Hilldale Baptist Church near Claremore. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, particularly gardening.
Loving family members include: Her husband: Mayes, of the home; Son and daughter-in-law: John and Saundra Nowlin, of Claremore; Four Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren; Two sisters: Olivia Whisenhunt, of Madill, and Annabelle Williams, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; One brother: Norvelle Jasper Clure, of Wynnewood; One aunt: Nona Thompson, of Wynnewood.
She was preceded in death by one sister: Olive, and one brother (in-law): Riley.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, December 9, 1995, at the Mowry Funeral Capel in Owasso. Serving as officiating minister was Reverend Jim Cunningham, Pastor of Hilldale Baptist Church. Serving as casketbearers were Dr. John Williams, Dr. John Johnson, Sidney Williams III, Don Ross, John Nowlin, Jr., Everet Challis, and Garry England. Committal services and interment immediately followed at Memorial Park in Tulsa. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowry Funeral Service of Owasso."
