He married Mary Elizabeth Barnes (1853-1932) on 6 Aug 1871 Sebastopol, Sonoma, CA. They had 11 children---Allen Sylvester, Rodney Harlan, Gertrude Myrtle, Mary Jane, Lydia May, Harvey Aaron, Samuel, Elizabeth Amy, Lottie Edith, Oscar Lelan, and Clinton Tice.
