"The Toledo Chronicle, Toledo, Iowa, Thursday, 08 Dec 1887, pg 1, col 8: "The sad news of the death of Mrs. Jacob Korns thrilled this community two weeks since. Although the day of the funeral was very disagreeable, a large crowd gathered at the home of the deceased to witness the laying away of this good old lady. The weeping relatives have the full sympathy of this community, as we all feel her loss."
