Flossie M. White, 82, formerly of Strong City, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls, Kan.

Flossie M. Hensley, daughter of Clarence and Clara Ellen Carpenter Hensley was born June 16, 1923 at Benton, Kan.

She married Leroy Theodore White on May 26, 1947 at Cottonwood Falls. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1992.

She is survived by a brother, Charles Hensley of Clay Center, Neb., nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of the the St. Anthony Catholic Church. She worked as a waitress at the Bank Hotel in Strong City for 27 years and as a certified nurses aide at Chase County Nursing Center in Cottonwood Falls for eight years. A Rosary was recited on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Strong City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at the church with Father Nicholas Voelker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery Strong City. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony Alter Society or for Spiritual Bouquets in care of Brown-BennettAlexander Funeral Home, 201 Cherry Street, Cottonwood Falls, Kan. 66845.
