Carma Mae Sanders, 83, of Nampa, passed away at home on Sunday, September 15, 2002. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2002, at the Nampa 16th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 504 11th Avenue North, with Bishop Roger Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.

Carma was born May 18, 1919, in Preston, Idaho to Franklin Davenport Hendricks and Vilate Walker. She graduated from North Cache High in 1937. She was one of three in a family of twelve who graduated from high school. An accomplishment she was very proud of. Carma married Ray Christian Sanders in the winter of 1938, in Ashton, Idaho and they were later married for eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in the Idaho Falls area and raised their four children there. They moved to the Nampa area in 1959. Carma and Ray operated the Nampa Custom Cannery on Midland Blvd for 11 years. Carma then went to work for Carnation Potatoe Company, until she retired. She loved to travel and raise her roses, and loved fishing with her sister Vicki. She enjoyed very much the love of her family, with family parties and special occasions, her favorite times. She had a strong testimony of the Savior and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Nampa 16th Ward.

She is survived by her daughter Thayla Walden and her husband Stephen of West Jordon, Utah, son Kirk Sanders and his wife Marla of Nampa, a sister Beatrice Welling of Clearfield, Utah, and a brother Glen Hendricks of Sunset, Utah. A son-in-law Clay Thornton and a daughter-in-law Cheryl Sanders McBride. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, son Verlin, daughter Nola and a granddaughter Vickie. She leaves a tender spot in the hearts of those who are left behind. Sixteen grandchildren who adored her, and their spouses, 10 great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and countless dear friends. Carma leaves a wonderful legacy of love to her family and all who knew her.

Friends and family may call at the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel Thursday evening between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
