Services held for Lloyd A. Anderson

Lloyd Albin Anderson, son of Charles and Annie Anderson was born September 24, 1902 at Boxholm, Iowa, and passed away after a short illness at the Hamilton County Hospital, February 2, 1968 at the age of 65 years, 4 months, and 9 days. He was baptized at the Boxholm Lutheran church and attended the rural school in that area.

Moving with his family to a farm near Gowrie in 1914, he attended the schools and Zion Lutheran Church of this area. Lloyd became confirmed member of the church in 1918. He was a faithful member, was active in the church, the choir, and the Luther League.

In 1932 the family moved to a farm south of Stratford and his transfer of membership to the Stratford Evangelical Lutheran Church was made. He continued to be active in the Luther League, choir, and served on the church council.

Lloyd was united in marriage to Myrtle Olson of Stratford, February 27, 1952 at Geneva, Illinois. They established their home north of Stratford where they lived until the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, and his two daughters, Lois Marie 15, and Karen Ann 12.

Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Marvin Carlson of Stratford, four brothers, Earl and Russell of Stratford; Marle of Gowrie, and Floyd of Polk City. Also a brother-in-law, Arnold Rosenquist of Burnside.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alice and Mrs. Arnold Rosenquist. Others surviving are two aunts, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Pastor Robert L. Carlson of Burnside Lutheran church conducted the services at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 5 at the Lutheran church preceded by a prayer service at 1:30 p.m. Vocal selections were tendered by Pastor Carlson with Mrs. Ashley Phipps as organist, singing "Lead Kindly Light," and "Thou Art the way to Thee Alone."

Nephews served as pallbearers, Robert, Jon, Delmar and Edwin Anderson, Merlyn Rosenquist and Leland Carlson. Burial was at the Oakwood Cemetery.

Lloyd Anderson died today; rites Monday

STRATFORD - Lloyd A. Anderson, 65, died Friday morning at the Hamilton County Hospital.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert L. Nelson of Burnside and Rev. Robert Carlson of Central City, Neb., officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Hanson Funeral Home.

He was married in February 1952, to the former Myrtle Olson.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Lois and Karen Anderson, both at home; one sister, Mrs. Marvin Carlson, Stratford; four brothers, Earl and Russell R. Anderson, both of Stratford, Marie Anderson, Gowrie, Floyd Anderson of Polk City.

He was born at Boxholm, Iowa, and was educated in the rural schools at Boxholm and Gowrie. He had farmed for many years in the Stratford community.
