Obituary in unknown newspaper, 24 Jun 1939: Campbell rites to be tomorrow. Funeral services for Samuel Edward Campbell, 71, who died yesterday morning at the Providence hospital after an illness of several months, will be conducted from Lebanon Methodist church at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon by the Rev. Mr. Smith, pastor. Interment will be in the church. Mr. Campbell had lived at Edgewood for the past several years. He was a retired farmer and a member of Salem Methodist Church. He was born at Congaree, the son of Tyson Campbell and Joanna Young Campbell and he had lived in Richland County all his life. Surviving are six sons, E. T. Campbell and L. L. Campbell of Eastover, D. H. Campbell, Cloyd K. Campbell, Claytor K. Campbell and M. N. Campbell, all of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Nealer Addison of Hopkins; four brothers, Julian Campbell and Marion Campbell of Columbia, Walter Campbell of Dentsville, and James Campbell of Eastover; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Serving as active pallbearers will be six sons. The funeral party will leave McCormick's mortuary at 3:10 tomorrow afternoon.
