IN MEMORIAM
Warren J. Newton

Warren Joseph Newton, 84, of Rt 3 Ferguson Avenue, died Monday at Memorial Medical Center after a long illness.
The native of Guyton was a member of the Montgomery Presbyterian Church and was a retired building contractor.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lila Baker Newton of Savannah; Four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Lever, Mrs. Lucy Zeigler, Mrs. Doris Phillips and Mrs. Ann Todd, all of Savannah; six sons, Warren J. Newton, Jr. of Eau Gallie, Fla., George R. Newton of Jacksonville, Florida, Sidney E. Newton of Columbia, S. C., James R. Newton of Pensacola, Fla. William H. Newton of Savannah and Raymond A. Newt5on of Alexandria, Va. ,; five sisters, Mrs. Edna McElveen of Brooklet, Mrs. Irma Elkins of Pineora, Mrs. Ethel Sheppard and Mrs. Maude Shearouse, both of Savannah and Mrs. Jennie Coleman of West Palm Beach, Fla; a brother, Sidney H. Newton of Savannah, a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Rose of Savannah; a half-brother, Devoe Newton of Bloomingdale; 27 Grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sipple's Mortuary. Burial will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery. Savannah News Monday, April 17, 1972
