All of Milan lost a very good friend indeed with the passing New Year's Day of Reverend Leroy Cabbage, former pastor of the Peoples Presbyterian Church in Milan. When the call went out for service to the community over and above the call of duty, you could always count on Reverend Cabbage to not only volunteer his services, but to get the job done as well. His type of devotion to service above self could never be properly rewarded here on earth. Reverend Cabbage's complete obituary may be found on Page six of this issue.

Reverend Leroy Cabbage, 79, of 245 Ideal Street, Milan, died at the McPherson Hospital in Howell on January 1, 1975. He had suffered a heart attack while en route to his home following a visit to his son. He was born August 29, 1895 in Salina, Iowa, the son of Jonathon and Isabelle Cabbage. On August 4, 1925, he married Salome Kisseberth in Bascom, Ohio. Rev. Cabbage served during World War I as an Army Ambulance Driver and was a retired Presbyterian minister, having retired in 1963. He was a member of the Detroit Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church, the F&AM of Decatur, MI, a life member of the Milan Rotary Club, and the Milan Senior Citizens. Rev. Cabbage was a former councilman and mayor of Milan. He is survived by his wife, Salome; two sons, a daughter, nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 4th from the Peoples Presbyterian Church with the Reverends Vern R. Campbell, Eldon Beery and Raymon Bair officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery in Tiffin, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peoples Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
