Edwin Brinkmeyer was born near Leslie on Sept. 16, 1901, and lived in that vicinity until 18 years old, when his parents moved to Washington. While in our city he got employment in the shoe factory and had many friends. Edwin was a young man of splendid character and his untimely death came as a great shock to his loved ones. The young man was to be married next fall and he and his fiance had already made their plans for this happy occasion. Relatives and friends deeply sympathize with those who now have been cast in sorrow and mourning, but they find consolation in the knowledge that Edwin lived a noble life and will go to his just reward.
Besides his parents, the young man leaves two brothers, Raymond H. Brinkmeyer of Kansas City and Harold Brinkmeyer of this city and one sister, Miss Eleanor Brinkmeyer.
The funeral services were held Thursday at noon at the family residence and at 12:15 p.m. at the Methodist Church. From there the body was taken to the M.E.Church at Leslie. Interment was made in the church cemetery in Leslie.
