All family records I have seen have said Elizabeth died 30 Sep 1855. I have found in the Salt Lake Cemetery a Elizabeth Pugh, birth unknown, death 9/19/1855 Salt Lake City,Utah, Burial: 9/19/1855 Salt Lake City, Salt Lake,Utah. grave A-6-1-5-W . On ancestry. com a book called All Conquerors of the West: Stalwart Mormon Pioneers, Vols. 1-2 Results has a history of John Etherington and said Elizabeth had died September 19, 1855. (I do believe that the Elizabeth in the Salt Lake City cemetery is the daughter of John and Elizabeth Etherington)
Found at Lds.Org The Record Search pilot and Elizabeth Pugh, Utah Deaths and Burials, 1888-1946. Burial Place Salt Lake, Salt Lake Utah, Death Place Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, (this is of course the person I found on Names in Stone. ) Say's her parents are John and Elizabeth Pugh. Remember her mother's name is Elizabeth and John is her father's name and her husband's name.
I have found her husband's name as William and John. Could be John William or William John.
I have found on the web the following:
From Yorkshire to Utah: emigration from Faceby in the 19th century (Part III)
John Etherington & family in Utah
After 1855 John Pugh and his baby daughter disappear from sight - John and Elizabeth Etherington brought up their motherless granddaughter Ann. They lived at Slaterville in Weber County, a tiny settlement that on their arrival had just been reoccupied, having been abandoned for a short while because of a small war with the Indians. John became a Ward teacher and high priest; he and Elizabeth died in the late 1860s.
Which tells me there was another daughter. On Ancestry, I found under family trees Warwick that has a Mary born Jan 1855 in Faceby, Yorkshire, England. Could this be the other daughter?
